I had the pleasure of lettering my friend’s wooden boat using 23k Gold Leaf. She is an excellent woodworker and crafted this boat while in a class at Penland School of Crafts.
The last photo of the boat gilding shows part of the process. At this stage I have lettered the boat with gilding fast size, mixed with a little pigment, and am waiting for it to reach the proper tack before applying the 23k XX Deep Gold leaf.
